Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

This policy explains what personal information Polin Guitars (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website or the guitar configurator, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

Polin Guitars is a maker of bespoke electric guitars and basses, based in Manchester, United Kingdom. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact chris@polinguitars.com. We are the “data controller” for the information described here.

The information we collect

  • Enquiries & quote requests. When you request a quote or contact us, we collect your name, email address, and the instrument specification you submit. A preview image of your configured instrument is generated and stored so it can be included in the quote.
  • Usage analytics. We use privacy-first, cookieless analytics (see below) that collect only aggregate, anonymous statistics — never information that identifies you.

We use your enquiry details solely to respond to you and prepare a quote. Our lawful bases are taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. We do not use your details for marketing without your consent, and we never sell your information.

Analytics & cookies

This website does not use tracking, advertising or profiling cookies. We measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personal data or track you across other sites — so no cookie banner is required. The site may use a small number of strictly-necessary technical cookies only where needed for the site to function.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site and respond to enquiries, acting on our instructions:

  • EmailJS — delivers your quote request to us by email.
  • Netlify — hosts the website.
  • Cloudflare — hosts images and provides the cookieless analytics.

International transfers

Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where your information is transferred abroad, it is protected by appropriate safeguards (such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses and equivalent data-protection commitments).

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for up to 24 months after our last contact. If your enquiry leads to a commission, we keep the associated records for the duration of the build and for up to 6 years afterwards to meet tax and legal obligations. We delete information when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal information, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email chris@polinguitars.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
